Following the release of their previous game, Star Hammer: The Vanguard Prophecy, publisher Slitherine asked them if they had any intellectual properties (IPs) they were interested in working on, and director Paul Turbett listed multiple IPs, including Battlestar Galactica, leading to them being allowed to work with this IP. Deadlock is based in the first Cylon war. It uses a simultaneous turn structure (WEGO) where opponents confirm commands and are then executed at the same time. It is based on the science fiction franchise Battlestar Galactica.īattlestar Galactica Deadlock is a 3D turn-based strategy game. Let's hope so.Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switchīattlestar Galactica Deadlock is a turn-based strategy video game developed by Black Lab Games and published by Slitherine Software for Windows on August 31, 2017. Slitherine/Black Labs did a good job with this one and should get a chance to continue in the future. With a new TV series likely to begin soon, (2022?) there will be another video game in the works as well as a lot more merchandising to come along as well. I also don't think this is the end of BSG. I think Slitherine and Black Labs did an excellent job with what they had and I'm glad they stuck to the "lore" as much as possible. I have played this game more than 2,200 hours now. So the differences are not a major issue and since BSG Deadlock was licensed by the IP owner, it also is "lore".until "lore is further changed by the intellectual property owner. Glen Larsen, BSGs Mormon creator - yes, that is where all the "Gods" and religious philosophy and stuff comes from, decides what is "lore" and what is not and he was fully behind the remake and either consented to or created some of the changes."lore" and all. I had five major fleets (with leveled up Commanders) and a total of 52 ships (12 battlestars 16 Adamants, plus others). Being afflicted with OCD I always painstakingly build up fairly large, balanced fleets ( about 10 for Season One five for Season Two).and all of those ships are ENTIRELY irrelevant for the final 2 or 3 battles of each campaign. Cain being prominent in DeadLock is inconsistent with "New" Galactica lore.Īnother annoyance with all the campaigns: It seems like the "fleets" you build outside of BSG-75 are basically irrelevant for the final missions of MOST of the campaigns.
